Incredibly informative. You shined the light on some of the technical aspects of the artist's garret that we street shoppers would never know. Worthy and noted. Respect thine artists. Someone who sells 12 works at 5K/work, could not pay rent and eat in most major cities. #needart #needartists
As always, I have learned so much in this space. I'm so grateful that our paths crossed (and hearts knit together) when they did and part of the evidence is that i've begun taking my art purchases seriously. this has meant that i've also begun to hang/place my art in new ways that bring me greater joy. you have such a massive talent and brilliant mind. i'm so grateful for the opportunity to learn from both!
Thank you so much for this informative and valuable article, Jennifer! As an artist, one of the questions I get so often (and which makes me cringe inside, because it usually means they are calculating dollars per hour) is "How long did it take you to make this?" My chosen answer is "My whole life" - because that is what has gone into it - my experience, my evolved skills, my thinking, my individuality, everything that makes that piece something only I could have made.
